Default 400 Cooling fan?

Cant get the fan on my 04 400 4x4 to come on,Ive let it idle for 45 min at 75deg and still no fan. Hard riding and no fan, no heat light either? Is there any other way to test to see if the thing works or do I have to bring it in to the dealer? Its got 200 miles on it now, went to synthetic at 100 miles.

Thanks in advance.

Default 400 Cooling fan?

I have an '03 400 that's the same way, the only time I ever hear the fan is when I work the bike hard, like pulling heavy trailers full of firewood through some fairly rough trails. I heard it once in the winter, after I broke a trail through 3 feet of snow for about a mile. It seems like it gets hot, but the temp lite never comes on and it still performs good. It's that huge rad in the front that only cools oil, the slightest air across it keeps the oil cool I guess. I also run 0W40 synthetic, I wouldn't worry about it until you see the temp light, it seems normal

I have a 2003 400i and was faced with the same thing, I didnt like how hot it was running so I put an override switch on it, now the fan will come on when it is suppose to or I can turn it on when I want it to be on.
