Default 400 vs 400

Just wondering about the reverse in the 400 auto vs the 400 gear, Not happy with my 400 gear in reverse... Not enough oomph! I am upgrading to an 05 500 auto for myself. My wife will be getting a new 400 auto as well, Is the reverse in the auto any better than in the gear?

Thanks

oomph? do you mean speed or power wise?

my 04 500 auto has no problem in reverse.....enough power to pull and back outta the mud....not enough to smoke the belt

I'm guessing (not sure) that the 400 auto will be very similiar

and i was wondering what year your 400 is? we also have a 2000 AC 400 manual. I noticed that whenever you work it you have to be in low range......high range on that machine is for road use only even though it is a manual. And reverse is sooooo slow in low range....
