Arctic cat 300 Diff. question
#11
It's kind of got me thinking now, with the gear I carry up front, plus the winch, I've got a lot of weight up there. As it sits now, my Dad's stock 'Cat sits 1-2" taller in front. Not significant, but could be enough to rub. Guess I'll just have to get the tires, then see what it takes. I'm not worried about the back at all, even with the rear rack bag fully stocked, there usually isn't more than 100-150 lbs. back there, and the rear end has tons of room anyway.

You can only raise rear sus about 1" & the front about 2-3", then the joints are at full flex. I did both of mine & have had no problem. But if your going to bigger tires anyway I'd only lift the front a couple inches, just enough to make ground clearance even all the way under.

With the tires, the top of the fenders don't even come close. The sides are where the least clearance is at, and if you squat the suspension, they don't come into any closer contact. As far as the rears go, if my swingaxle bends to full extent in the rear on the left side, then the edges of my Tri-Claws will rub a bit on the muffler. I never found a problem with it in anything but very uneven terrain such as climbing out of a ditch with the left side in a rut.

Cowboy: I'm running a 2000 300 4X4 & the lifts have been in since first ride, I'm now at about 500 miles. I also run stock tires which work very well, once the front lift was installed I felt the need for taller tires was nill. Also tried rear 25X10X12 stock tires on front & they rubbed on shock mounts, so your very limited as to size you can go on a 300.
