Default Noise on 05' 650

hello all,

My 05' 650 is new and has less than 10 hrs. I have noticed a vibraiton from the muffler, sounds like metal harmonics. I'm 100 % positive its coming from the metal heat shield on the backside of the muffler. Do any other 05' 650 owners have this same sound?

i think im hearing the same noise on my 650, but it almost too perfectly spaced to be what i originally thought it was, which was some metal shavings inside the muffler case, it kinda sounds like the heatshield or muffler is expanding from the heat, but it doesnt bother me much, does yours sound like a ting every soo often cause thats what mines sounds like, overall excellent quad, my friends are all jealous

buckmaster, I lov'em and they look great. Not as smooth on the flat roads but most of my riding is in the dirt. I wouldn't switch to anything smaller now.

Yes, I get pings too, must be the metal expanding, guess I need a glass-pack to drown out out the mosie ;-)

Overall it's a great machine, love the easy starting compared to my 04' 400 and even with the mudllites-it has speed.
