Well I was deadset on either a Grizzly or KingQuad, but now the 05 Arctic cats have gotten my attention. The extra 150 scares me though especially after adding gas and my 260lb ****. Just wondering what the prices are for these...are they running any specials?

Got mine for 7100, including the winch ($69 deal right now). I think the list is 7599+69 for the winch, but don't let the dealers swindle you. I had one dealer that started out ok (7300 including winch). Another started out saying..."7599, plus the 69 winch, plush desination charge of 300, plus...". He changed his story pretty quick once I had someone with a decent price. Depends on where you live too...there's a previous post I started where I think someone may have gotten one for around 6800! Definitely shop around.

Oh yeah, for the 150 pounds...not an issue for power. This thing screams for a sport ute! The only thing I don't like is the heavy steering, which seems to have improved a bit with 6-ply tires. Just keep in mind that this a utility quad, and handles as such.

Do you have any pics with the plow set up on your Cat?I'm looking to do pretty much the same thing. I see you say that your from boston. I'm guessing your from somehwere in Massachusetts. I'd like to check out it and see how it drives if possible. Even if I only get to see you zipping it around, I could see how it goes. I know another guy with a Grizzly that i'm going to check out as well. I prefer real world experience versus looking at it at the dealer. Also what dealer did yo get it from? The one near me that carries these thinggs quoted me $7997 for the LE.

The local guy here has a $7200 tag on the 650 and will drop a $100 without a blink. If you have cash he drops even farther. He came down $450 on the '05 400 I bought.

Keep in mind that I bought mine when the dealers first started getting them in, so perhaps you can get even better deals now. Also, I live in the Boston area where labor and overhead costs probably add quite a bit.

True Boston is quite expensive, I used to work out there. Picking a quad shouldn't be this tough!

Apparently, I missed part of your questions/comments. I got the cat at the dealership in Townsend, MA. Trader something or another, the name escapes me right now, but the only one in that town. If you don't go to them with a good price already, they'll end up quoting you 500 over list Other than that, I just did a search on the AC website and called every dealer to get the best price, working one against another. One of the guys that works for me has an uncle that owns dealerships in Boston and Plaistow, but they're pretty firm on their prices, so I'd go out of town if I were you.

Pics...well, working on that. Everyone keeps asking me, but I have 0 time. Working on my thesis at the same time as a 45-50 hr week job and a 1 yr old. Along with that, my wife would pretty much kill me if I took the time to let someone come over to look at the cat. As it is now, I come home, say hi to the wife and kid and head off to work on my project until 1am.

If you decide to go with a Kawi or Grizzly, go to Hudson, NH. The dealer there seems great (at least the guy I spoke with several times). Younger guy that started off saying he could cut several hundred off the new models which was refreshing. Plus, he actually knew about the product which is always good!

Good luck with your thesis. You must have gone to poor farm trader. I was just in townsend the other day picking up a transmission. Oh well, if anything changes give me a shout and I'll zip up there after work (I'm in worcester) even if it's for 5 minutes. I'm going to check out the AC's after work tomorrow at Breezybend RV's in Leicster Ma.

Breezybend was another one that came down to 7200 I believe. In the end, PF was maybe 100 cheaper, but BB seemed to have a better selection. Everyone around here seemed to be in that range when I bought mine a little over a month ago and wouldn't budge any further. Can't say as I'm thrilled with PF, but they're ok. Still waiting on my winch because they're back ordered and not the best of service, but from the sound of it a lot of the AC dealers kind of bite.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll be happy with either a Grizz or AC650. Both are good machines with plenty of power, the AC is just more on the utility side and has heavier steering. Much cooler looking and nice MRP feature though.

BTW...as you can see from the timestamp, 1am, I have to wake up at 6:30, and I'm still working on my thesis...and the bad part is it isn't due for two months!!!

SHEESH! Thats no fun. Whats the thesis on. Glad I escaped through grad school without the thesis. But I'm still workin on the CPA exam. Oh and my time stamp was that late because I had just got done painting a room in my basement. Hoepfully when I pick up quad I'll have the time to enjoy it
