I didn't find anything in the parts list for a second tube. Is it exactly the same as the gas vent tube? Emergency backup vent?

Same size. One tube definitely comes right out of the gas tank and is obviously the vent the other comes up from the wiring and just is suspended under the pod cover?

 

unless the tank vent tube comes out of tank and u turns back up but wouldn't that cause a trap?

have you had any heat issues from the exhaust on your legs??? I to need to review the options for a rear rack, too bad they didn't think this one through.
