I bought a new 04 650 last spring and really like the machine. Unfortunately I let my son borrow it last weekend and he totalled it climbing a steep hill. I am going to replace it with a new 05 650, and see that there are some body differences. Will it still fit in the back of my shortbox 04 GMC p/u with the tail gate closed?

 

Hi I have a riding buddy with a 05 650cc he has a 4 door ford short box and it fits with tail gate closed

 

I have a 2002 Dodge SWB and 400 500 and 650's do not fit with the tailgate closed.

 

I don't know how big your box is, but the 05 front bumper sticks out an additional 4 inches more verses the 04.

 

Eastlakerider; I have an (04) 650 that fits in my Ford Super Duty Short Box just fine. I recently put my brother in laws (05) 650 Limited with all the bumpers in it and it fit just fine. I have a 2x6 screwed to a 4x4 that I lay across the front of the bed. This makes a high enough ledge that the front tires won't role over it and it gives the proper space to prevent the front bumper from contacting the rear window of the truck. Tail gate closes and it fits perfect. Don't know about the chevy but should fit.
