500 with 28's, what are your thoughts

I sale arctic cats, i have for 3 years now. I never thought i wanted anything fancy for myself though. I have a 2003 400 manual 2x4 with a winch, and frankly, everyone trips out on what i can go through with that bike. But this weekend i went riding with some of the people that i have sold quit a few bikes to. WOW, hard to believe what they can do , and where they can go with those machines, crossing skidder ruts, ponds, on and on.
So i get to thinking, The biggest bike out there the other night was a arctic cat 500 with 27 inch mudlights, Maybe i should get a 500 "i like them better than the v2 650" and put 28 inch mud lights, I am sure they will fit.
Has anyone had 28s on a 500 and what are your thoughts ,
Although i would like to get an auto, a 5 speed would probably be better suited for hardcore mud and water like i am thinking of torturing it with.

i had an 05 500 manual and i had 28" gators on it.
man that thing would go anywhere but i broke 4 rear axels and wore out all my front end bushings within 2500 miles.
i found that the 500 dident have the power to keep the tires spinning in the deep stuff and when i got stuck and had to work it to get through somthing it broke an axel.
the mud lites are a lighter tire so they might not be so hard on parts.
i would go with a better tire and 25" or 26" tires.
my mud zillas put my mud lites to shame on all terrane and thats what im putting on my honda when im done with the lites.
26" mud zillas on your cat will out do most anyone you ride with.
you dont need 28" tires with all that ground clearance.
26s or 27s would be just as good and not as hard on parts.
if i was to do it again i would go with the zillas in a 26" tire.
hope this helps.
