When I bought my cat there was a promotion about a free 2 year warranty. Thats one of the main reasons I bought my cat. It's very good thing I got it cause I bought this quad as the FIRST NON HONDA in the family. I am beating on it and seeing what it's weaknesses are so my other family memebers will know if it's worth looking into when they are trading in there Honda's.

I almost sold another 500 after my uncle rode mine, but his wife ended that.

About James. IS it just me or does it seem like he needs more coffee in his diet?? I mean every time I call it seems like he is half asleep. Make me want to say, "WAKE UP, YOU HAVE THE COOLEST JOB IN THE WORLD, HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!"

Man, that sounds pretty cool! I'll be looking for your show in Jan, sounds like you had a blast. As far as I'm concerned, I couldn't care less what anybody drives. As long as there's a good attitude and good advice, anybody is welcome, in my book. You are right about the forum thing though, I think the AC forum has about the best guys here. Usually don't see any of the fighting or bickering that seems to be everywhere on the other boards. I wonder if some of that has to do with AC not making a sport quad? Seems that most of the fighting is between the sporting guys, rather than the utility/sport utility crowd. Just a thought.

We did have a post in here recently where a couple guys got jumped on pretty bad for posting "useless" information. What originally was just a fun little note, ended up being a tiff over posting useless or meaningless information. I'd hate to post something that was just plain wrong, whether I knew it or not. These forums are a great source of information, and a big help to a lot of people. Though, I guess we do need a little fighting every now and then, to keep it real. Heh Heh Heh.

Boner:
Heh Heh Heh, yeah, now that you mention it, he does seem a little "tired" or something when he answers the phone. Though, after a few minutes, he seems to come to life, wake up a bit. Can you imagine having such a job? Man, working with atv's or atv equipment all the time! I almost think the Mossy Oak and Real Tree guys have the ultimate job though. Hunting for a living, product testing various kinds of camo, new patterns, etc., all with the use of atv's! Damn, what a life! I wonder if any of them could use a guy with an Animal Science/Ag. degree??? If anything, at least it says I'm trainable! Hey, AC, Mossy Oak, H.L.-any openings???

Probably a good thing you had the warranty when your rear end went out! Bet that would have been expensive. Good luck on the quest to convert your family members! Actually, I think Honda does make good machines, but I sure as hell wouldn't trade my 'Cat for one.

Yea, the rear end cost around $550 with every thing.

I'm not trying to convert them, just trying to let them get the best for there money. My uncle had tested the 454 when it first came out. He liked it alot but wasn't realy interested cause he was happy with his Foreman 350 which was (at the time) the best bike around.

When he tested my Cat they were VERY impressed. The best thing on it to them was the fast reverse. Almost threw my Uncle and grandfather over the bars when they punched it.

Fourlix,

Get your butt back here! We could use a tv star in our forum anytime. "comprehension problems over in Honda and Yamaha land." thats funny. Seriously though now that you are an "outsider" your fair and unbiased input would be a great addition. About your TV show I swear to God I have already seen that thing on TV somewhere, Junkyard Wars and your team name sounds familar. At any rate pretty cool.

Regarding the steering: Following your logic if I located those arms farther out it would steer easier but not as sharp. I have a 2000 and a 99 500 in the garage so I will check the mounting location of the rods and see if there is a difference. I wondered what they changed to make the drastic steering difference from 99 to 2000. Maybe you have hit on it. Glad to see you back in the forum.
