fuel leak

Well I just filled up today and have a small crack in the fuel tank were the filler neck meets the tank.Is there any way to fix the tank or will I have to replace it .Were can I get one, new or used ?

There are several ways to repair plastc tanks. The best is welding the plastic (heating and melting it back together), however on a gas tank this is a NO-NO! (at least with any gas or fumes in it). Replacement tank is available from you dealer. Also the safest way to go.

A good auto bodyshop should be able to plastic weld your tank. They do it quite often on the newer cars with plastic bumpers. To avoid an explosion, you could fill the tank with exhaust fumes. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
