Default Keeping Plugging Tire or Replace It?

I have had my first ATV a couple months and had to put 3 plugs in the rear rear tire today for the same hole. Should I replace the tire because it took 3 plugs to close the hole or do you think the plugs will hold?

You can replace it, plug it again, or put a tube in the tire

Put SLIME in the tires and that should take care of the problem. Slime will plug up to a 1/4 hole. And in a case were the hole is larger the plug will reduce the hole size so slime will work.

I usually send my tires that need more than 1 plug in the same hole to a tire shop and get them vulcanized which is a hot patch that is forced into the hole . Its a permanent fix that you dont need to worry about each time you take a ride. The cost up here is about $20 per hole

Question: If you need to replace a tire on a quad due to a bad hole or tear, do you need to replace all of the tires? On most 4x4 road vehicles, the tires have to all have the same amount of wear, so if you have to replace one, you have to replace them all. Or else your running the risk of tearing up a transfer case. Any thoughts?

Im with weez on this one. tubes work better than plugs and better tires are they way to go anyways.

How are you guys dealing with fixing tubes in the field though? Its hard enough to fix a flat on a tire with plugs in the bush, let alone a tube with a hole in it!

Depends on how good the remaining three tires are. If you measure the circumfrence of the tires, itll let you know how off it is. Then depending on much they are off, its posible to adjust the diameter and circumfrence with different air pressure.

I never had a tube go flat that I couldnt blow backup or use tire slime in an emergency. its always worked enough to get you back to camp.
