What a day
#1
Well saturday I met up with two guys on lifted big bears, they had been ridding at the place for a few years, they were more than happy to show me around. we rode for about 3 hours till it started to get dark and low and behold my lights went out...but that was no big deal. Today Sunday I decided to play in one of the bigger holes that we found. After about thirty min of being wet I decided it was time to just go and play in the sand. But it was a long way around the hole to get to it so I decided to go through a shallow looking part. This is where the trouble begins, the cat already needed a new plug so it was not running like it should, no matter, it was not that deep. I started off and when the water came over the racks I jumped on the rear one to keep the frt up out of teh water as best I could, then the quad slid off into a bottomless pit, slowly the cat started to climb till the motor dies. Off I jumped and ended up in about 6' of water with mud underneth with not true bottom insight. Luckly the cats frt end stayed above water so no water got into teh air box, I swam to the bank, hooked up the winch and pulled her to the bank. after thinking about all the damage that I had just done I hit the start button and she fired right up,,,I could tell she was not that happy so I put her back on the trailer and came home, I give her a new plug, coated the inside of the boot with some dieletric greace. Give her a bath, and WD-40 everything.
So learn from my Mistake...if water gets inside of you spark plug boot it will not run...period. Go get some Dielectric Grease and fill the boot full of it, It may save you quad.
Since I have been ridding every weekend its time for a few new mods...I am working on a new snorkel and will be getting a IDS2 withing the next few weeks, then come bigger tires, I might even lock the frt end, not to sure about it yet
