Default overheating?

I have a 2004 AC 650, went to rumble on the ridge this weekend, had some major overheating problems. This has never happened to me before. Are there any kind of coolant upgrades for my bike or do I have to just keep pulling over?

your radiator is prob. plugged up with mud- the 650s are more suseptable to overheating due to the ammount of motor that small radiator has to cool. The only way to get it clean is take the front screen off of it, get the winch out of the way (if you have one) and squirt it down good with a garden hose. Be careful not to bend over the fins and if you decide to use a pressure washer be VERY careful. Otherwise you might have a bum thermostat which is a bugger to get at on that one- its attached to the top of the radiator......

Before it overheats, does the fan come on? If the fan doesn't run they will overheat even if the radiator is clear.

Like Bear said, check the fuse for the fan if it doesnt run, they like to blow when you get to deep in water.
