2002 300 2x4 still having trouble starting after sitting for a hour or so any one that can help runs great when it starts but getting it started is the problem if i let it set

 

When you shut it off are you turning the fuel valve off? If you have a weak needle and seat it could flood the motor after being run or it could be vapor locking. Have you tried choking it to start? Does it make it better or worse. When it does start does it run real rough for a bit, then clear up and run ok?

 

well thanks for all the help but i finley found out what was wrong with it the intake valve was out of adjustment fi reajusted the valves and she runs great

 

i have a 06 v-twin that i have to choke to start and it runs real rough until it warms up.. then it's fine.. but starting it cold is very difficult..

 

It's the nature of the beasts. I like the auto chokes myself. I've only had to use the manual prime once and then it was 10° out and it had been run in over a month. You can always turn the idle bleed screw out a little if you like.
