OUTLANDER 400 VS ARCTIC CAT 400 VP IRS ????
Both of these machines would would do very well for what you want to do with them. G.C is about the same, rack capacity is identical (300lbs) and tow rating is about the same as well. I have an '06 Outlander with 2,300 km on it with no problems so far and I have friends with 400 AC's that have had no problems either.
I've spent time on the AC's and IMO the Outlander has a little better ride and more power, other than that they are both pretty good machines. I think it should come down to the better deal and what dealer you like the best.

How about the ac 400 manaul shift it has all the time 4x4 is that going to hurt my gas and also make it hard to turn at higher speeds maybe not be able to et in tight spots. That quad has straight axle rear end should i hust break the bank get irs ? were talking 1400 dollars diff ? i cant get in at 4,900 with the basic ac 400 ? but i dont liek the fact it all the time 4x4 i want to break lose have some fun and not get pancaked on a easy turn. jsut let me know if you know anyone with the sra and all teh time 4x4 im really coming down to getting it in a few days. Im also thinkin of buy the outlander at the price of the ac but i think the ac has a more reliable motor i live to far a way to be taking it to the shop all the time. theres a brp shop here but hes a *** if you dont buy from him but the price is better at a shop further away and i kind of like the cat more but dont way to spend all that extra money for the bomb ?

If you are going to trail ride, the outlander is better and faster. However if you do any type of utility, the AC is hard to beat. The racks on the Outlander are a joke. My recommendation is to spend $1400 more and got with IRS especially for rough trail rides. I rode many ATVs before buying mine that had straight axle and IRS. It was a no brainer. I've gotten to around 40 MPH on straight trails and that's fast enough. Arctic Cat isn't the fastest off the line, but can keep up with most ATVs once it's moving. It's great on trails, mud, farm use, etc. My '06 400 4x4 LE was $6300 and well worth it with everything it has for the price. I too looked at Bombardier, but the dealer was too far away and not all that friendly. When you're spending this much cash, you want a dealer you can call.
