Default a few 06 400 questions

ive got about 800 mi on my 06 cat 400 4x4 auto fis and the other day i fueled up and filled it up above the fender and i fuel was pouring out so i chase it and found a tube that was out infront of the carb that was all melted i assume from the motor and it was poring out fuel until the gas dropped below a certain level but ive always filled my quad till the filler spout and never a prob it seems to be an overflow tube or something should i worry or no and what about the melted tube. also whenever i take off on my quad unless its real slow i hear a squeal almost like my brake is still locked and i try to move. but its from my belt do you have to adjust the belts on a 400 or do i just replace it. i dont abuse it i dont hammer down on it very much once in a great while any help is greatly appreciated thanks

rango726 i have the same Quad as your a 2006 AC 400 4x4 auto fis, i haven;t had the trouble you are describing, i bought mine feb 7th 2006. I did however overfill my gas tank past the point my manual said was the fill mark after my last ride. I didn't ride it for about a week and when i did go on the next ride i notice the fuel bars where down two or thre marks from where it was when i filled it up from when i last filled the tank it could've been evaparation in my case! The manual say's to not go over the fill line because the tank expand's when it's hot and can cause a shipon or leak fuel by way of the overflo vent's. I don't know if this is your case, but i would replace the melted vent tube, and check out the overflo line's and the tank. i've seen a post on here some where on the formums on some older models with the fuel tank's up front instead of the 06' models like our's having problem's with gas smell's where they found it was stopped up fuel vent hose or vent's clogged....and about the burnt hose when you replace it try rerouting the line so it will get the least heat to it. And if i was you i wouldn't go past the bottom of the tank mark...............Best thing to do is to drain the tank and refill it with the 6.5 gallon and check how far it show'in the filler tube this will give you a visable mark thwt the tank is full without going over the fill line, don't go over 6 and a haft gallon of fuel, that is what the manual states the fuel tank whole's, sorry for the long post but try these suggestion's and see if it's the fix...........I hope this help's i think this should do the trick ! Oh before i forget i only have about 153 miles on my AC yet, the day after i got mine the weather turned for the worst, cold, rain and now the heat and no body to ride with !.............. keep me informed on your progress, my email is set to send emails to me when you or anyone else post's anything new to your post........GOD Bless you and all on the formum's....................williebee
