Default New Cat

Alright, i finally bought my cat. It had 165 miles on it, with 48.5 hours, you guys do the math thats an average fo 3.5 miles/hour, so i cant complain. I said i wouldnt buy a used one, but with everything looking like new, i couldnt pass it up. It cam with a winch (New cable), plow, hand and thumb warmers, front brush guard, rear bumper, full 2 year warranty, a helmet, and a ramp for 5880 OTD. Its an '06 and so its rady for its first service, and they are gonna do that at the dealership, but i think when i get it home on saturday, im going to switch it over to synthetic. My question is with winter coming up should i put 0-40 in it for now, and then in the spring put like 10-50, or would i be fine just running the 0-40 year round??? Any info would be appreciated.

Yes run the synthetic all year around. The ARctic Cat 0W-40 is good stuff and you can get the kit right at the dealer. Then you only need to change the oil once a year or every 500- 1000 miles - depending on how your drive.

I however use the Amsoil stuff. Just remember that you need something that is "wet clutch" safe. GOod Luck and congrats! You got yourself a good deal there.

You can run the AC synthetic year around. You should also do a cross reference for your oil filter and get one from the auto parts store. AC oil filter is $12-$15. NAPA filter for my AC 400 is $5. Also running a non-AC oil filter does NOT void your warranty.

Enjoy the new ride.

Like Catterman, i reccomend a good quality synthetic oil. I also use AMsoil 0-40 all year round.
