OK PEOPLES I AM NEW TO THIS ATV STUFF. WHAT GOT ME STATED IS THAT I AM A CONTRACTOR FOR SBC AND THEY CAME TO ME TO SEE IF I WOULD GET INVOLVED IN SNOW REMOVAL AND APPLYING ICE MELT MY ? IS THE 650 STRONG ENOUGH TO REMOVE UP TO 6" OF SNOW FROM PARKING LOTS AND SIDE WALKS IF SO WHAT TYPE OF PLOW SET UP IS BETTER AND WHERE SHOULD I BE LOOKING AT. ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO FIND A 12 VOLT SPREADER THAT WOULD MOUNT TO THE BACK RACK ANY INFO THIER WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I LIVE IN OKLAHOMA SO SNOW FALL ANINT THAT MUCH BUT WE DO GET SOME ICE STORMS ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL.

When I lived in Alaska I used a 400 Cat to plow and it worked great. However, depending on the size of your parking lot it might take three weeks to clean that out. You can get an old 70's F-150 with a plow for $1,500 up here and do it a lot faster. However, it is a lot of fun on an ATV. Be sure you get the 60" plow too, anything less takes a lot longer and when angeled it won't clear your tires. Good luck.

i know it will take some time but unlike the guys up north, here in oklahoma we do not get that much snow and also i will be plowing as it is falling are main thing is the ice were i will be applying ice melt. i have been looking at the warn 60"plow with acturator is this a good plow. i need to know of a good 12 volt spreader and were is a good place to get one.

I have no idea on a spreader.
If you are only going to be doing snow, be sure to get a plastic blade. The snow won't stick to it. Good luck,

I think they have atv plows, and if not, they may have attachable salt spreaders.
having said this, why not just buy the biggest snow blower you can, at a place like Sears. It could easily be 5 times cheaper than an atv unit with all the extras, and would not have to be insured.
Further, if money is a concern- get a walk behind fertilizer spreader type thing for salt - that will be much cheaper than a 12 volt unit.
You have to decide if you want a fun toy that can do some work, or something to supposedly help you "MAKE MONEY NOT LOSE IT"

The company that does snow removal where I work uses a Honda Foreman. It has a spreader on it, (don't know what brand) and is only used for the sidewalks. I'm sure we get a lot more snow in a season than you will ever see, but I would hate to do a whole commercial parking lot with a quad. What are the typical dimensions of an area you would have to clear?
