Default New '06 700EFI issues

I bought a new 2006 700efi last week and took my second run on it today. After driving a mile or so through the trails and getting stuck once, I notice my temperature gauge reading very hot. Considering the bike is liquid cooled, I was very surprise to see this happening. Three times I had to stop to let the bike cool off before getting back home. My son was driving my old 2001 Honda 450 Foreman without any issues. Would anyone know if this is common for Arctic Cats? Should I bring the bike in to the dealer to check this out? As a first time owner of an AC, I am very disappointed with this experience.

It is not common for Arctic Cats to overheat. I take it that your fan was working and the coolant level was full? If so, I would have to say that you have an air lock in one of the lines somewhere or maybe you just have a bad sensor. Did the over flow bottle have boiling coolant?

I am not a mechanic by any means, but it didn't look like the coolant was boiling. The coolant is definitely full, but I don't believe I heard the fan working. I will check my fan to ensure it works.

thanks for your response.

my friends 06 400 blew a rad fuse, now thats a oil/air cooled but the fan is the same, another buddy got his filled with mud and the fan wouldn't turn. listen for the fan, if youve been riding it awhile and shut it off you should be able to turn the ket to the run position before starting it and the fan sould come on. its easier to hear when the quad isn't running.

I have an 06 500 and I hear the fan go on all the time. Even with the engine off with the key in the on position, you can hear the fan run after a hard ride. It is getting cool here in the northeast, but still riding in shorts, and when the fan kicks in I can feel it blow the hot air on my left ankle.

It will be ok, take it back to the dealer if necessary, you got a great machine here. And besides that is what warranty is for.

Last year my coolant light came on. I was riding in near freezing weather and not riding hard. Coolant level was fine. Turned out to be the sensor and was replaced under warranty.
