Default brake kight problems

i have a artic cat 250 4x4 the brake light does not come on when depressing the hand brake .
the foot brake works fine
besides a broken hand brake switch what else would cause this problem
i purchsed it as a floor model in april of this year and its still under warranty
should i bring it in for service or does this sound like a non warranty issue?

Switch is bad in the hand brake or the plug came apart down below the steering head (just follow the wire down from the switch) under the front plastic). I guess it could be a broken wire but I've never heard anyone complain of a broken wire. I was an Air Force dad another life time ago (pre 1975).

Would almost bet that it is unplugged. Wires go down next to column and have a couple of tabs that hold them, when you turn if they are to tight it unplugs them.

Well, to ohms check the switch you have to find the plug. So that is easy way to start checking. I agree however, that it is probably unplugged. I did it once just by reaching in and rerouting the tank vent hose. Sure doesn't take much.
