Default AC 500 Question??

Ok, got to take the quad on its first mud excursion this weekend. I would have to say that overall i was pleased with the power and traction of the quad, but i have one concern. I ws wondering if the quad has an emergency shut-off or something of that sort to prevent water from getting in the intake, because as soon as i got up to about just below the fenders, the quad would shut off and there i would sit. i think if it is a shut-off, it is a good feature, but ther were times when i had plenty of momentum to keep trucking, but the quad just stopped, just wondering if anybody else has had this happen or if anybody knows whats going on. I would like to add that the quad started fine once i was able to get it back on high ground, but would not start in the water. thanks.

Default AC 500 Question??

Dont believe that there is auto fuel shutoff on the A/C. Could have been a chance that you had trash in the carb though. A buddy of mine had the same problem. Whenever he got the quad off of a parallel plane in a mud hole, the quad would start to sputter and quit running. Once he got the quad still it would fire back up. We cleaned out the air intake and there was a little debris in there. Hasn't been a problem since. I'm not sure if you're having the same problem but it's a starting point.

Default AC 500 Question??

Almost sounds like you are getting water into an electrical connection that shorts out.

My wife's TRV use to sputter when you went through deeper water. I cleaned and checked every electrical connection I could find and put some dielectric grease on them and problem cleared up.

Most of your electrical components are mounted to the frame about the height of the top of your fender.
