Default AC Headlights

Have a 2006 H1. I have approx 1200 miles on bike. My problem is with the headlights. Water gets in housing. Siliconed around and where the electrical goes in. My question? Has AC come out with a new headlight which is water-proof yet? Dealer told me that AC was aware of the problem and was working on it. While the silicone appears to be working, I don`t know how long it will last.

They should go back to the old design, they never leaked, unless you broke the sucker.

I agree, Bear. I just dropped mine off today to have 1 of the headlights replaced. Of course they asked me how deep the water was that I went through. I told them that it shouldn't matter b/c it shouldn't leak anyways, and that I noticed it while I was cleaning it up. I probably got water in there while spraying it with the water hose. It's kind of annoying since I only have about 130 miles on the thing and already have to have something fixed.

Default AC Headlights

I have a headlight on my 400 that has leaked since the day I got it. I am not sure if it leaks of the moisture condenses in there.

I have been tempted to drill a small hole to let the water that has built up in there drain out. Then silicone it up real good. I think mine is cracked some where but I cannot see it. This is the older style light and I would classify them as "water resistant" NOT "water proof".

For more light while riding in darkness. I made a detachable light bar for the front MRP rack with 2-55watt halogen lights and I just recently added a light to the handle bars so it steers with the machine. This has really brighened up the road for me while riding in the dark. I can now see the "sweeper" branches coming and duck before they have a chance of removing me from the machine.

"Heh men" swampy and thank GOD for the free helmet , i got with my 400 the first time i rode mine to the catfish pond across the road from my home i got a hard knock to the helmet that would've put my light's out ! And the ride to the mountain's i rode a little longer than i planned , it got dark about a mile from the parking lot ; and it was like wearing sun glasses compared to the single handle bar mount headlight on my old 86' foreman and the twin fender mount light's on my old 93' suzuki KQ 300 4wd ! I watched the safety CD Rom video my dealer gave me with my AC before i took it on the first ride , when it got to the part about riding after dark i thought they were kidding ; untill the ride in the montain's ! They were a little more than a couple of 2 cell flashlight's the one's they sell at big lots for $1.99 a 2 pack..........really !! But i was lucky my stock head light's have only gotten water in them from condensation so far , but i bought a good set of 45watt driving light's for $9.99 at sams club a few yrs back that i'm going mount to the speed racks ! My brother a 2002 Honda 350 Rancher 4wd and his light's have twin 35 watt light's on it , i alway's wondered why he wouldn't ride after dark ; i just thought he was getting old and afraid of the dark ! Well i still think he scared of the dark , but he has an excuse anyhow and hey bear it's just turned cold here in Ga just right for huntingv; but bad for me my jimmy sitting in the driveway with a shot ignition system ! Just my luck.............williebee

This will do the trick. Wrap the light socket with white teflon plumbers tape.

FYI. My dealer did replace the headlight, and AC did warranty it. I did not have any problems and I will be picking it up tonight. If anyone's is leaking, it should be covered under warranty. If it happens again, I will try the teflon tape.
