Default H1 Problems AGAIN

every 5 miles of riding on this turd and my buddy does 2 weeks of work to it!

Buddy with a H1 with 29.5 laws, gorilla axles, pipe, jet, and clutch mod. When (IN LOW RANGE) mudding something broke. the bike wont move for or rev. if left in neutral and push it will click and pop then lock up. To push it you have to put it in gear and rev the engine and it wont lock up, although it will click pop and jerk.

i pulled the belt cover and the belt was good. i started the engine and noticed the primary wasn't moving fast. put my foot on the primary and is stopped spinning, reved the engine and the primary didnt move. let go and revved to the limit and the sheeves didnt move much at all. Anyone know what might be wrong, and is the primary part of the crank, like splined to it or what, should it move independent of the engine. Very Wierd.

Help restore alittle faith in this turd.

thanks!

Put 30" tires on ANY quad, and you have a turd, and ask for something to break, in my opinion. Thats the first H1 ive heard of having so many problems.

tell him to put some 27's on it and he won't have any problems. atv's are not designed to handle tires that big, you are just asking for troubles. besides the way you completely change the gearing on it i am sure it feels like a pooch to drive so why would you wanna kill all your power and also kill your drivetrain to have them kind of tires on that when getting in the gooshy stuff you probably don't have the power to really break the tires loose. in reality with a good set of 27's you can probably go through just as much.

I would have thought that the primary clutch is driven directly off the crank, though it seems in this instance it's not the case. Either that or there is something major wrong i.e. crank sheared off ...

check for online fische slides .. like Ronnie's and see if you can determine the mechanism here. It definitely sounds bad when you can rev your engine without the primary clutch moving ..

The saying is, "If you abuse it, you will break it." Not the machine's fault. Operator error, every step of the way.

Almost sounds like he broke the bevel gear in the tranny. It is somewhat of a common prob on some cats when guys put huge tires on. Post on highlifter and see if you get more hits on this topic.

Bevel gears break under abuse on the H1, read many posts on it on hihg lifters forum.
