Thanks for all the input guys, I am only interested in the steering damper for help with kick back, I only mentioned the other issues for input separately. I will look into new tires first as I do not like the traction the stockers give anyways. I am a big fan of the mud lites since they worked so well on my Wolverine. What are you guys running? I don't want a tire for just mudding as I do trails, steep inclines and declines w/rocks as well.

 

I have OEM tires on both my quads. I would class them as "okay." Not great, but I can live with them. Besides, I'm not about to fork over $400-$500 for new tires when the ones I have are still good. When the time comes I will probably install Big Horns or their "knock off" from the same ownership. The knock offs are a little cheaper and are not as stiff in the sidewall. Also lighter. There is a company making a steering stabilizer that is rated excellent. I have no personal knowledge of their product but it pricey at just under $500. Find them here: http://www.precision-rp.com I don't know if they make a stabilizer for AC. I haven't looked at their site.

 

I am not interested in spending that much on Stabilizer or tires. I only paid Apx.$160-$170 for my 25" mudlites on line. It was through a ebay store and I had my cousin bring them down from Green Bay area.

 

$40 a tire for Mudlites. Whoa.. I'd better do more research.

 

THis was about 2 years agoa nd the guy was just starting up. He did not make any money on shipping either. I will try to find who I delt with on that.

 

I had similar problems with my 700. I ended up going from 27's to 26's which helped(mud lites). But stiffining the front suspention made a huge differance. A friend of mine really likes his anti roll/sway bar. He said it really helped his cornering. I don't want to effect my side hilling. so I haven't put one on.

You might want to check your front end alignment. There should be a 1/4" difference in the front & rear of front tires.

 

Should there be "toe in" or "toe out"?

 

I believe there should be a 1/4" toe in. Also, check out the swamplites. They are 6-ply rated with a stiff sidewall, give excellent traction for all terrains, and the improvement in handling was night and day. Not too bad on the wallet either.

 

Since this post I have put 27" 589's on it. 9" in the front, 12" in the back, adjusted the suspension and it is a totally different machine. I would still like to have a steering stabilizer on it, but since it is a work machine first, it amy not be worth it. I will double check the toe in on it. On my soport machine I put on a 1/8" toe in. Maybe I will go with a 1/4" on that too just to see if it makes a difference.
