YaHOOOOOOO !!!!!

My first snowstorm since I bought the CAT!!

We got about 5 inches last night, some of the drifts are over a foot deep! We had an ice storm Sunday night which made one heck of a mess of everything, now with 5" of snow on top, it is really a mess.

Looks like I'll be plowing the drive tonight, then maybe I'll take the plow off & go playing. Can anyone share any fun things to do while riding in snow? I'm sure doughnuts will be a blast & the roosts will be cool.

Can't wait!

We got 9" Sunday and Monday with single digit temps and 30 mph winds to drift it around. We're supposed to get an additional 4" today. I've been plowing with the Cat nonstop before/after work since Monday. That first big-snow-of-the-season excitement seems to fade quickly The Cat does do an excellent job.

As far as fun the only thing we do is pull an intertube behind with a rope. With about 50' of rope you can really crack the whip with the person on back. You just have to be careful you don't send your sledder into a tree or something. I've been wanting to try snowboarding behind, but haven't tried that yet.

It's still snowing here!! I bet we'll have 10" on the ground by the time I leave work. I'm thinking of leaving work early to get a jump on plowing.

I don't know why, I just always get excited with the first big snow of the year!

I get excited about the first snow also, except the extra hours of plowing and frigid temps take their toal. Is this your first year with your plow? It's my 2nd. I've got the 50" Moose - use the winch for elevating. The Cat makes short work of the snow. Have fun!

First year with the Moose, I bought the 60" straight plow. It's got to be easier than being on the business end of a shovel!!!! With a 400 ft driveway, I couldn't see any other way to clear the snow. I was saying to a friend that buying the plow was an insurance policy that It wouldn't snow at all this year...Guess I was wrong.

Man, the Big Cat can push some snow!!!!

I found myself making big piles of snow just to see if the Cat could push them out of the way. No Problem!! Even where the Highway plows piled the snow at the side of the road was no problem for the Cat. I'm very impressed!! I don't know what I expected, but my expectations were way surpassed. I spent about 1 hour cleaning the drive last night & today spent about 1 1/2 hours cleaning the drive @ work.

Now I just need to work on my pattern to keep from having to go over areas more than once & to spend less time plowing.

I thing that I have learned from plowing with my cat, is the you dont want to go to slow. I was used to the snowblower attached to my johny before I bought the plow for my cat. So I just putted around pushing the snow, usually in first gear of high. But now I do it in 2 or 3rd gears of high, it seems for me that the faster I go the further the snow is thrown and the less I have to back track over myself. And now I do my drive way in half the time I used too. if any one else has any pointers I would appreciate it.

Well, now you done it. Started snowing here yesterday, we've got nearly a foot on the ground, with winter storm warnings out for the next 2 days! Supposedly 6 more inches tonight, with a bunch more coming. Wish I had my 'Cat up here, and a new Moose attached to the front. Could definately make a ton of money both plowing, and pulling people out of the ditches around here. All these out of state drivers at the college have no idea how to drive in snow, so there's accidents or people in the ditch's everywhere!

I love it!

CatLance,

Hey, glad you like your setup. I really like the power to push the snow combined with the manueverability of the quad. In many situations it is better than a truck plow or tractor (except for being in the open air, brrr). I'm looking at buying the side shields to eliminate the crumbs that cross the angle of the plow when you're pushing a bunch of snow.

From experience, you might want to check and snug down your plow feet every once in a while. Mine tend to vibrate loose no matter how tight you think you have them.

Have fun in the snow!

I have been waiting for three years for my snow blower to die. I can then tell the wife that a plow is less expensive then a new snow blower. Maybe this will be the year.
