Prowler brake problem
#1
I have a 2006 Prowler purchased @ 4 months ago. Have put about 600 miles on it with no real problems. The rear brake has developed a "chatter" recently over the last couples of months. When the brakes are applied the rear brake assembly has a severe "chatter" that is more extreme as the speed increases. The faster you are going, the more extreme the "chatter" is. It is not noticeable at low speeds. The rear brake rotor has a slight wobble to it, you can visibly see this while driving & looking at the rotor. The pads are not worn, all bolts are tight, caliper is tight & not leaking. The drive shaft is tight & the brakes work good, good pedal action, just this chatter at speeds over @ 20 mph. Since still under warranty I took it back to the dealership for repair. The mechanic there seems to think there is a problem in the engine. I suggested the rotor to him. He then said he exchanged the rotor with another prowler he had & it still exhibited this chatter. I know about the rear brake caliper recall but the VIN is not within that recall. Anyone else out there experienced this problem? Any suggestions to fix this problem? Thanks.
