Default DVX 400 ?s

I have DVX400, 1 year old. Haven't driven it in a couple weeks, and I fired it up. I'm in Alaska, it's about 20 degrees f outside, and getting a little dark. Lookedlikethe pipe, at thefirst bend coming out of the engine was just a tad glowing red, very dull red, but nevertheless glowing a little. I've never noticed this before, hope it's not a sign of problems. This was after several minutes of a high idle. Any ideas? Thanks, Greg.

ya sounds like she's running lean. any mods?? exhaust, airboxlid removal, airfilter?

did you notice this after a good ride??? or just after starting....i wouldnt worry too much if its after a hard ride, but it happenin after its started then i'd say it needs a bit of carb tuning....

100% stock. It's a 2005. I think I may have a little ice somewhee it shouldn't be. The choke is frozen and the idle adjustment does not seem to be working. Probably a little ice leaning it out. Also, I'm near sea level (within 60 feet), so that and the cold air probably didn't help.

if the choke is frozen ,its an easy fix. if you think you have water/ice fuel line ante- freeze should get rid of it.
as far as the choke is concerned , do you mean its the cable , or do you feel its in the fitting that screws into the carb ? best fix is to replace with one thats mounts directly into the carb
its been my experience that most of the manufactures are sending these quads out on the lean side , some thing to do with e p a regulations .
