Mmmm.... Nice looking 28" tires. They didn't go overboard on the lug depth and it looks like a good tread pattern. This could cause a stir for some other folks sporting 28". Vampires are looking older and older every day. I'm wondering when they will go and make a lighter tire that doesn't ride as rough. You can imagine that they are already losing market share to other manufacturers.

Well Andy, the vampires do ride rought and look old, but they still perform. In the right conditions(like mud with a hard bottom that is not deeper than the groundclearance at the belly pan, like where a tractor would accell), they are the best. Even better than Outlaws, in those certiant conditions because instead of floating on the mud and useing the soft mud for traction like a paddle in water (as the outlaws were designed to do), the Vampires get down to the hard bottom where the REAL traction is and claw there way threw the mud.
I don't think the Mudzillas will be a real competitor for top mud dog when compared to the Outlaws and Vampires. I think it's more of what the Magnum series claws are, but for the 28" class. What I mean is they look like they offer a lot of traction, but not the best, and yet still ride(going from the looks of the tread) very well on hard pack. Just as Magnum series Claws do.

Did you take a good look at the Mudzillas? Looked like a pretty massive lug to me. Of course they aren't the same as the 28" Vamps, but those aren't exactly very wide tires either, which seems to be a key for mudding. Dirtwheels took the performance of the Outlaws over the Vamps. Obviously they weren't totally amazed by the Vampires either, because they let the cost factor bump them out with the Claws. I would have figured that if they were so much better than the rest, then cost wouldn't be much of an issue. Outlaws aren't cheap, but they still won the shootout hands down.
You seem to have some sort of vendetta against Maxxis tires or something. Does that guy that you drug around a few times with the 450 and the Mudbugs brag on his tires a lot or something? That would be enough for me to not like them. Nothing I hate more than bragging idiots. There is a kid around here with a Honda 300 with Bear Claws on it, that always brags to my cousin on how great all his stuff is. Talk about a stupid S.O.B. This jackass sat there and tried to tell me that his dad's 400 foreman outran a 300ex. WTF??
He also was talking up the Bear Claws to be this awesome mud tire, when anyone with any common sense knows that its just a good trail tire, with better than average mud capabilities for that type of tire. I think this is one of those families that lives in an older looking trailer house, yet has like $30,000 pickups and 2 fourwheelers and stuff like that.
If your vehicle cost more than your home, ya might be a Redneck!

That must make me a Redneck. My dad STILL hasn't built the house he has been talking about for YEARS. He is waiting for me and my bro to move out, no useing waisting the money on a couple of years I guess.
I don't like the mud bugs for a couple of reasons.
1. I saw a Foreman 400 with 26" Vamps and a HL lift kit(which made it almost as tall as the 450 with mud bugs) push the guy with the 27" Mud Bugs threw a rack deep hole that the 27" mud bugs could even make it TO the deep part. The 26" vamps went the other way, got in the deep part, and pushed the 450 with the 27" mud bugs out.
2. He ALWAYS had to(sold his bike) go to an open spot were he could hit 3rd gear to clean his tires before pulling someone(me mostly) out or hitting a mud pit. The tires EASILY cloged up if you went from a mud pit to a dusty ground. The dusty ground would just make it stick to the tires for some reason and he would realy have to spin the tires to get them clean.
3. For the price, I'd just go with vamps. And 589s are cheaper.
What I REALY liked about the tires was the top speed they added. The light weight and added tire diameter made his 450 the only one that could keep up with me at top speed, even tho he could not hang in acceleration. His 450 was maybe .5-2 mph slower than my cat with the factory tires.

I've only seen the ad in the Feb. Dirtwheels myself. The one they showed looked like it was about a 10" wide tire, but I think they have different widths. I don't know about any size other than 28" though.
