Synthetic Winch Rope
ive got it on mine. i bought the warn 3.0xt and it came with it. no problems yet and ive used it about 30 times. i love it just b/c you dont get frayed line and binding. on the other hand its harder to pull out on free spool, but its still worth it to me. if i ever come up with any problem ill be sure to post it though. oh, and when i use it to pull my self out of trouble,or just to pull trees, i use an old tow strap around the tree so i dont ruin my winch rope.

I haven't heard any complaints unless they are misused. The roller fairlead needs to be replaced with a solid one, the rollers can pinch the rope and cause frays. I've heard most people say the sleeve is pretty durable, but you do need to make sure it is in place if you are pulling against any trees or rocks. Winch rope is my next planned purchase for my 650 but I may have to wait, I found out today the clutch in my old 250 is junk and needs to be replaced.

About the best I can find is on E-bay, Amsteel/Bluesteel 5/16 x 50 ft for $34.99 + $9.99 shipping. Suprisingly enough I thought the 3/16 x 50 ft would be cheaper but it isn't.
Also, found a Hawse fairlead for $28.00 delivered.
Anyone know of any other deals?
Ideally I would like to find either 3/16 or 5/16 40 ft for around $25.00 or around $30.00 delivered. I really don't need 50 ft and actually I could live with 30-35 ft if the price was really cheap.
I don't want to spend a great deal of money because I don't know if the synthetic is for me - so used to metal cable.
Plus my winch is planatary which can heat up and I hear the synthetics don' t like the heat too well.

I will tell you they were great - they sent UPS to pick up the old winch (didn't cost me a nickle) gave me my money back for the winch and also the shipping that I paid. The warranty was 90 days and I had the winch for 8 months.
Here is the kicker I paid $106 delivered for the 3000# Xtreme.
They refunded me $117 for the 2500# Venom + they paid for it to be shipped back to them
Pretty good I'd say - so if you ever want a Venom or Xtreme winch buy it from PowerSource LLC. (through ebay).
With me, they have a lifelong customer and advocate.

I wanted to test the 3000# winch so I went and got my sorry butt really stuck in some thick mud (the kind that pulls your boots off if you try and walk in it). (I have to go back when it is dry and get my left boot - hehehe)
So to test it I hooked as high in a tree as I could reach - the freaking winch picked the front end of my AC right up in the air out of that mud - I could not believe it. So with a little throttle the rears pushed and the winch pulled and right up and out I came slick as can be.
