can I put a diff lock in a 02 400i manual, and if I can, is it easy

 

Takes two people if you live in Winsted - lol

I think you can, you will need the differential (make sure you have 36 and 10 teeth for the ring and pinion) and actuator with the drive shaft, and the lever for your handlbars. Not sure about your axles you would have to cross reference them to see.

They carry new and sometimes used parts. New you are probably looking at close to $600-$700, used maybe half of that. You probably would need one out of a 2004...

 

i looked into a while ago for my 500. it would cost me(from the dealer) about $1400.00 if i remember correctly. included : cable,switch,new diff, it hink new axles(the splines are different) basiclly everything needed. if you get a price from the guy that buck sent you to, please let me know.

 

heres the deal, $300.00 for a used diff, $180.00 @2 shafts= $360.00, that is $660.00 total not counting cables. around $800.00 to do it, sell your diff with shafts for around $300.00 and you have a total of about $ 500.00 to do the diff lock. thanks buck for the info

 

You can get new Wild Boar axles out of Bangor Maine for $120 each - will save you $120 for 2. If you need the contact info let me know ok...
Need to find someone trading in a 04 and swap thing around... Never know for a $100 what some people will do...
