Default NEED HELP

I AM CONSIDERING BUYING A 2007 AC 500 4X4 . I AM GOING TO BE HAULING IT IN THE BACK OF MY TRUCK SOMETIMES . I HAVE A 6 1/2 FT. BED (SHORT BED). I KNOW THE TAILGATE WILL HAVE TO BE DOWN BUT I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD HAULED THEIRS IN A SHORT BED TRUCK AND HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT BUMPER AND THE BACK WINSHIELD OF THEIR TRUCK. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE HELPFUL.

Best to put an old tire in front to keep the bumper out of your back glass

My fits fine because my front bumper hits the front of my box. It's a really good idea to have something up there to hold it back a little. The old tire idea is definitely a good safety precaution.

I use a couple of concrete blocks. You can sit them against the front of the bed and front tires will hit them before the bumper hits the windsheild.

I have an 06 400, probably the same specs, size-wise, as the machine you're considering. I have found that if you back the machine in, and use ratchet-straps on the back only, it not only fits, but doesn't scarf up your tailgate. With the back tires against the front of the bed, nothing can hit the window as there is 2-3 inches of room. I have an 00 GMC Sierra and it works fine, 6.5' box of course. Let me know what you think.

I've hauled my 500i in the back of a Ford Ranger. It's a tight squeeze, but it will fit.

Solved the bumper into the rear window problem by backing the Cat in.

I can raise the tailgate when backed in easily with the back ratched down. When driven in forwards, I am like .5 inch away from hitting back window with tailgate up.

I used to put cinderblocks in the front of the bed AND a small tire between the glass and the bumper. I finnaly got sick of the hassle and bought a small trailor. That was $ well spent.

I ALREADY HAVE A FLAT BED TRAILER. WHAT I WAS WONDERING WAS IF I COULD PULL MY TRAVEL TRAILER WITH AN AC 500 IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK AT THE SAME TIME. SOUND LIKE GETTING THE TAILGATE TO CLOSE WOULD BE THE MAIN ISSUE.
