Default Air intake question for a 400

OK....I've been getting some great help from everyone. So here go's again.

Someone has asked about stalling. Mine did too. When I pulled the air filter it was totally clogged. And that is after 2 full day rides.

So, I washed and degreased it. Re-oiled it and tuned the rest of the quad.

Here's the question. When I had no filter on it, it ran awesome. Idol's much smoother. Ran 5 mph faster. So this leads me to believe that the motor wants more air. Obviously you can run it without the air filter. The plug is not fouled, so one would think that the air/fuel ratio is fine.

Any thoughts!!!!

buy a K&N air filter for the most flow you can get out of a filter.

Read the post 'air-jetting', the mod will cost about $6.00.
