Default CDI vs. ECM

Just wondering what the difference is in the two. I'm looking for some power upgrades for my 650 v-twin. Just ordered new clutch springs.

Default CDI vs. ECM

An ECM, or module, is going to increase only low end power on the v-twin by tricking the computer into thinking the machine is at a higher speed than it is (works off the speed sensor on the 650's), and must be engaged between 0-3mph, so it is good for drag racing and wheelies only. A CDI is a whole new ignition system, with improvements in timing across the rpm range, which equals more power. I have had both on my Prairie 650, and I can tell you not to waste money on a module, get the CDI, you will be much happier.
