Thanks guys...Now I'm more confused then ever...Bahahahahah!!!!!!!!! Just kidding...I sure do appreciate all of your inputs and please keep um a comming...
I do mostly feild riding,,Going through thick thickets ( tall and heavy brush ) , through the woods but to get to all thei stuff I have to go through ditchs and thats where I need BIG traction,,,The bottoms of them are pretty swampy and the banks get pretty steep at times...I ride by myself 90% of the time and sure don't want to get stuck miles from my home...The wench works great but ya need something to hook er to on the other side in which most cases there is'nt anything...I know thats the price ya pay getting stuck so I have to be able to get out of the ditchs......
Thanks Again guys...Donnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......

Donnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (thats a mouthfull)
Forgive me for my response. The problem with all Mudlite tires is that they carve out space in the individual lugs, you'll see what I mean on the XTR. Each lug is made to be thin by a nice recessed groove. The problem I have with that, is that it doesn't result in any more measurable traction, and DEFINITELY causes quicker tire wear. It's mudlite's way of getting you to buy tires quicker and I don't think that's fair.
This forum is slanted toward the mudlites. I'll contest any mudlite tread against a bighorn tread style any day of the week for trail riding. hill climbing, rock crawling, and most mud. I've had them both and the mudlites lack appreciable traction compared to the bighorn style tread.
When people give you tire advice, make sure they have owned and used more than _one_ type of tire to get a real comparison.
Again, I'm just trying to help, and I'll probably get yelled at, but my intentions are pure..
Thanks..
Ether.

Hi all, I've got a 2000 500 Arctic Cat 4x4 and am thinking of up grading in the tire department.....I mostly do trail riding and love going in big ditchs and climing them...However I need a bit more bite for climbing out of them...The machine has got plenty of ***** it's just a matter of getting more bite..
So many choices out there that it get get a bit confusing on which ones are the best....
The Cat's got 26 x 10.5 x 12's on er now....Should I stay with that size or move to something different ?????
Do wheel spacers realy make a big difference and do I need them.??? It's pretty wide right now ???? !!
I'm going ta ride this bomb all year around so the tires must be able to keep up with the different terrain styles..
Thanks again for all your help in this big tire debacle.........

Most everyone will claim that what they have is the best - human nature. Once you decide what you want your tires to do then there is a tire that will get it done. Mine work for me. They out perform many other brands in many areas. Are they the best all around tires? (I have different tires on the front and back - they do different jobs) I can't answer that. They do what I want them to do. The combination of tires and the fact that I have an AC, I have been able to get places others can't, even others with much more aggressive, dedicated tires. But the plus comes from that they work in a variety of situations, and different surfaces from hard surface to mud. The front tires have true side lugs and they work - I would not recommend these tires for the beginner or average rider - you can get into a situation really quick because anything that comes in contact with the sidewall it will grab - like tire ruts can be a hand full, if you are moving right along - will get your attention really quick. The plus is that they can pull the front right up and out of most everything - without having to turn into it very far - ruts, stumps, rocks, they do grab. The rears are awesome to say the least - gobs of traction.

I agree that there are better tires out there then the mudlites but for my wallet they are great and I like the way they handle better then my stock "hole shot" tires.
IF I could afford it I probably would've went with the Maxxis Bighorns.
