I am looking for an ATV for my 7 year old 48" tall son. I am most interested in reliability. Is Arctic Cat as reliable as Suzuki? Polaris? Honda? Where are they made?

They are made in Thief River falls, Minnesota.
They are very depenable. I have owned every brand and I like the Cats. They are made in America. They have palnts in St. cloud MN and Madision SD.
Some of motors and Transmitions are from suzuki. When they started creating them, they hired an engeneer from Honda to get them started in the 90's.
I have 1600 hard miles on my AC and the only problem I have is the gas gage broke when I was jumping it.

 

AC is one of the most reliable quads available, imo.

 

dont get a dvx 250------ its a kymco in cat clothes. not sayin a kymco is a bad bike, but my daughter had a dvx, and it was junk!

 

I'd stay away from the DS 250 made by Can am as well.

Just like the DVX, it's a Taiwan made (SYM) and rebadged. Got one for the wife to replace her Trailblazer 250. No comparison in the two.

 

What about the Arctic Cat DVX 50? Is this a reliable model? Is this model made by Arctic Cat?

the 50 is also a Kymco.

 

Almost every kids quad is a rebadged foreign atv, most of them are pretty reliable

 

Get the 90. Kids grow fast and even the 90 is not that fast.
