LOOKING FOR A MUD TIRE BUT ONE THAT ALSO HANDLES 1/2 WAY GOOD FOR SOME TRAIL RIDING. WHAT ABOUT THE XTR'S, I THING THEY MAY BE SWAMPLITES??</end quote></div>
I am not a Swamlite or IP fan but if you do the IP gig then the XTR's will be your best bet.
Based on what you want maybe you might want to consider the MUDCATS. I run them on the back and they are awesome. A stock 25" tire has a full 1" of tread depth. They are a very good trail tire and also a 6ply tire. The MUDGEARS that I have on the front are not recommended for the beginner rider - the side lugs can get you in a mess in a real hurry.

I ordered some 26" Maxxis Zillas on 14" ITP SS212 rims for my 400 today. I hope they work out alright.
I went with the Zillas mainly because they're just slightly bigger than stock and they're lighter than Mudlites and Swamplites.

I have 29.5 swamplites and love them! I really like the 1.5" tread depth and they are a very tuff tire that rides really well. They seem to work really good i all conditions thus far..
