BTW, the first model year ACs were 96s, not 97s. Just thought I'd clear that up.

I don't THINK thats true. I thought the first YEAR MODEL was a 1997 model that came out in mid summer of 1996. I could be wrong, but I'd like for you to show something that proves me wrong so I will KNOW FOR SURE.

racnooc,

At first, I was worried that the little Cats wouldn't pull the Outlaws very well. So I put the two 26x10x12 on the rear of my wife's 2x4, and the 26x12x12 on the rear of my 4x4. At the same time moved the rear 25" stockers to the front on both bikes. There was no power loss, just improved fun and mudability. Went through MANY more places and MUCH deeper holes than I ever could before.

Just the other day, I put the 26x10x12's on the front of my 4x4. Twelve lbs. of air in the rear, and four lbs. in the front to compensate for the tire diameter difference. Haven't yet had a chance to take it out for a real test. However, riding around the the property there doesn't appear to be much, if any, power loss still. The 300 pulls all four Outlaws very well. Keep in mind though, that 99% of the time, I ride in midrange. I haven't tried high range yet with those tires.

BONER,
I'm certain AC made a FEW 96 models b/c my dad had one. It's weird, though, b/c he and my uncle bought their quads the same day from the same dealership and my dad's was a 96 and my uncle's was a 97. And they bought these bikes as soon as the dealer received their very first shipment, so my dad's wasn't something that was leftover. Like I said, AC must have made only a small number of them. My cousin, Joe, still has that 96. He port/polished the heads, put blackwaters w/ chrome rims and he might have bored it a little. Not sure about that though. BTW, my relatives weren't a dealer until late 97 if I remember correctly. I think they bought the quads in Alexandria. Later.

I Talked to Joe's dad a while back about joe's bike and he told me he was currently running 27x12x12 Vamps and his stockers on the outside of that. I've seen a picture of an AC454/500 with deals in the back at there old dealership, was that his??

BONER,
Joe has/had two quads, the 96 and a newer 500. I don't know if he still has the 500 or if he sold it as a demo. He swaps them out too often for me to keep track.
The quad you saw in the picture was for a customer/friend of Joe's.

WTF do you mean? Have you not said that you ride your quad harder than any other AC owner here? I remember you saying that. I also remember you saying that most of the problems you had were because of how hard you rode it. Thats about all I was saying. Some problem with that. It wasn't badmouthing or anything like that. I just said what you said, and I was talking about how well the quads will hold up.
