hey everyone,
i went to my dad's today to help him with the brake on his ute.
he has a
2001 AC 500 auto with single lever hydrolic brake and foot pedal.
We replace both calibers on rear (right wheel) and pads on both front wheels.
??? IS
When we tried to bleed the rear brakes, both on foot brake and brake lever we got nothing. I opened the bleed valve on the level caliber and started squeezing the lever in and out tilll i stated seeing brake fluid, closed bleed valve and continued pumping. Still nothing. Repeated several times, and also kept filling the res as it seems like when i took the caliber off in the first place in drained the line completely...
We were able to get a little pressure on the lever but not on the foot brake...
AND the pressure we got on the lever was no where near what my new brakes feel like on my new POPO... It doesn't stop like it should
What did i do wrong???
Any help would be greatly appreciated

try letting it gravity bleed. just oppen the bleeder and let it sit for a while untill you see fluid come out. if that dosent work than you might want to try a vaccume bleeder, you can get one for arround $20.
dont know if im reading your original post right but you dont want to be pumping the lever with bleeder open, pump the lever, hold it down, oppen the bleeder, close the bleeder and repeat untill you have a solid feel to the lever.

You can try and put a clear plastic tube over the bleeder valve and put the other end in the resovour and keep pumping until you don't see anymore air bubbles... They are very finiky and you probably will never get good brakes like it came from the factory - just a quirk that I don't think anyone has an answer for. I though of trying three tubes and bleeding all the lines at the same time. Someplace there is a problem with the brakes hiding some air. I think it is in the junction box but not for sure.
