Default tires

I have previously had 26 inch mudlites on my AC 400 manual I currently have 25 inch mudlites. I can say that I did not notice much difference between the stock and the 26 inch tires unless I was in deep deep mud. But I did notice a power increase in the deep stuff by going to a 25 inch tire.

I put the 25 inch tires on because I got a smokin' deal on them I was looking for 26 inch tires at the time. I will be putting mudlites on again when these wear out ( I have about 2000miles on them now).

I will also ditto the vote for maxxis bighorn tires as a good all around tire.

I run the same diameter 26" Swamplites, excellent in mud, snow, rocks, no vibes on the pavement either. Stick to the same size tires your machine came with and you will avoid mechanical problems later, trust me.

Swamplites hands down are the best tire for your money. Excellent in EVERY terrain.

get some 27 inch Kenda killer's they rock on road off road mud dirt sand water ! and they don't rob any power. . . My 07 Rubie turns them better than the stock cheapo tires. . . you got plenty of power in a 400 Cat. . .

get 27x10-12 kenda executioners for the front.
get 27x12-12 Kenda executioners for the rear.

Trust me i did they fit the stock rim they fit my quad with out rubbing anything mines all stock your sits another inch or 2 higher your machine will perform considerably better !

200% improvment on my machine. . .

Check out my pictures and consider Mud-Cats. 1" tread depth on a 25" tire. They dig like crazy in the soft stuff to include mud and snow, and are smooth as silk on the trail and hard surface. And they don't cost a ton of bucks. They also work extremely well on rocks - soft rubber compound. The only draw back with these tires is that they wear a little quicker than other brands but they are cheap enough to balance out in the long run. I have over 1500 miles on mine and there is still more than 3/4 inch of tread. And they are a 6 ply tire which will assist in a stiff sidewall.

Tires tires every one has an opinion on them ! I run mudders on every all wheel drive vehicle I own ! So I'm going to stick with kenda executioners ! 27 inchers !

If you are on both mud and rocks it's hard to get a tire that is excellent on both since that tire will need different characteristics to excel at either one. My suggestions for a balanced approach would be to consider the following:

Swamplites
Swamp Witch
MST
Bearclaw
Swamp Fox Plus
Dirt Devil
MudWolf
XTR
ACT
Big Horn

Some of the above will be great on the rocks and somewhat decent in the mud. The others will be the opposite.

Buckaroo500- I love the tire combo you are running. I always appreciate it when people think outside the box with their combo setups. I assume they run true to height?
