'03 cooling fan
#1
I have an '03 400 4x4. This is the first liquid cooled atv I've had.
I noticed that the cooling fan does not come on much at all. I ride it slow and work it pretty hard sometimes. My friend has a big bear and his fan is kicking on and off all the time.
My temp light never comes on, and the machine always runs fine. I was just curious did anybody else's fan run very little.

In the summer here in Nevada, the fan kicks on alot. When I stop for a few minutes, I leave the key on the "on" position so the fan stays running or the fan would kick on after a minute or two after stopping. Yesterday, It did came on a few times but later that night it only kick on once, (it was about 25 deg. that night)

Your 03 AC 400 is not water cooled. That is an oil cooler up front not a radiator.
Also your fan will kick on if you are pulling a heavy load in low range or putting along a trail in low doing the stop/go thing and making the machine work hard.

I knew it was oil cooled, and this is my first experience with one. The fan has only kicked on once since the start of september. During the summer it came on some, but very seldom. Was just wondering if it was common.
