Default 1998 454 cooling fan motor

Hey everybody need some help here. My fan motor went out on the cat. I can't find one for less than $110 and do not want to spend that much. Is there anyone who knows of an online or otherwise site that sell them for less, or is there something I can cross reference over and rig in. Any help would be great. Ready to get back to riding. I have had this bike since 98 and it will be my wifes ride now I've gotta get a new cat but I need to figure out something on this one first

I'm having the same problem with my 2006 AC 400 FIS Auto 4x4 it hasn't gone out on me , but it's starting to make a squealing noise when the fan first cycles on while riding ; i first noticed it a few days ago wile riding i don't have an anwer but i would also be interested in what someone comes up with on this issue !

Also i would like to know if there's a way to lubicate the fan motor , i don't want to continue riding it untill it goes out on me ; any info anyone has to offer would be great if it can't be serviced i will take mine to an industrial supply and have them match one up with one that can be serviced !........

You might try taking ot off and going to an auto parts store and looking at the radiator fans on import cars. Like a Suzuki sidekick, etc. I was told at one time that a CV boot from a geo metro will fit certain AC machines. Never was able to figure out which one but it occured to me that if you could find a similar sized fan off a car you could just swap them out. A car is a 12v system too but it would probably need to dray the same amperage and you would need to tweak the wiring some.

Also, check the cost of a new fan for a Suzuki ATV it may be cheaper than $110. But if I had a choice of spending $110 OR messing my engine up from overheating it. I would spend the $.

Measure the diameter of the fan and get an aftermarket one for a car from ebay or Summit Racing.

10" Ebay Fan Link

I cannot tell you for sure if a 10" fan will fit but it gives you an idea of what's out there. Also, if you get a universal fan, make sure not to wire it backwards.
