Again another old question for all you Arctic cat owners....Automatic trans?....I've never owned an auto before...what do you guys think about them?....Also Andy Bassham did you buy your Cat in Alma?....If so are you happy with there service after the sell?...I've never done any business with them before and was just wondering?.....Thanks for your time.

Hey we've got a winner!! yes indeed I got it at Alma. Service is excellent. Of course, there is a catch here. One of my best friends' dad owns Alma Tractor. Therefore, I did get it at a pretty good deal. But still, they are a ton cheaper than Lakeland Marine in Springdale. When I bought mine in 1998, Lakeland quoted me $6759 with the winch deal. They wouldn't give me the winch for $100 unless they installed it, and they charged $50 for the installation. Therefore, I only used them as a place to test drive (they had a good place too).

Back then, the same bike at Alma Tractor was $6000 with the winch. I paid less considerably, but still it was a lot better than Springdale.

The next year, I went over there with my uncle and he bought a brand new 98 454 that they had left. Paid like $5450 with the winch at a time when the winch promo wasn't even going.

Service is good over there. Their mechanic is a good guy too. He isn't too fond of "the pOlarises" though. I think he has had to fix a few of them that were trade-ins.

The last time I looked at their prices, they were like $5800-5900 for a 500 and $6000-6100 for an automatic. Pretty good deals on the smaller bikes I think. They can also order the Kimpex bumpers and stuff too.

 

Those pictures are from over three weeks ago and I have not been back to camp since.We are thinking about going for a ride this week but it has snowed alot more since the last time I was out there.I and my friend may just hit the groomed snowmobile club trails and hope for the best and just do the jail time if they catch us.

 

Andy you are right about Lakeland, highest place in NWA for anything. After it warms up we need to get together some weekend, I would like to see a cat in action.

 

did you get that RSE at Williams? Those folks are pretty cool. I used to go there and test drive stuff. They would be like "keys are in em". You could go out and get on whatever you wanted and drive them at your own leisure without anyone haggling you. A lot better price there compared to Wheeler in Ft. Smith. I used to work at JB Hunt up there, and I would stop in Lakeland a lot on my lunch. I went there mainly for AC brand accessories or minor parts (bumper caps, filters, etc.)

 

Got mine at Rhino Joes in Centerton, just outside of Bentonville. Nice photo album you got there.

To my knowledge isnt the Rubi's tranny allot like a auto on a car or truck. I meen it still has gears it shifts in and out of, so its not a continous stream of power like a belt tranny. SO I see no advantage with that. I actually see the advantage go to the 300. Since You can shift the 300 down quicker then what an automatic tranny can.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I did a little research on it. That little tranny is pretty cool. I thought it was like a car tranny. I guess I was wrong.
