thats hard to say. If you shop around most atvs of that age have around 2,000-3,000 miles on them. You can always find some with lower as people may have used it only for deer hunting or occasional trail riding, while others have used thiers for deer hunting, trail riding, yard work,farm,ect... so they will have higher milage. When i sold my atv a couple yrs ago it had 4,500 miles on it and was used for trail riding, hunting, and farm work but i did not ride it all the time. I seen back in about 2001 a guy had 45,000 miles on his atv,but it was used in a lumber yard and ran 24hrs a day,7 days a week. BTW,the top end had been rebuilt at about 25-30,000 miles.

average use is around 1000 miles a year,
so a 2005 with under 5000 miles would be low mileage

There is a average? I get 500 miles a year we have to much cold or snow for 5 months for much more.

There is a guy on this site with a 09 XP550 with 5000 miles and another with 1998 with 750 miles. Its up to the rider's style. I bought a used 2001 because it had less miles then most 2005 I was looking at 3 years ago.

If you take 52 weekends and x 100 miles thats 5200 a year.
If you only ride 1 weekend per month thats still 1300 a year.
Only 500 a year? you need to find a hobby you enjoy more.

Got that covered. I put 1500 miles on these in just 3 months. We have to much snow to used our ATVs much in the winter, they would be stuck more then not. Most useed ATVs have low milage around here.

Their you go! So if you only had 1 toy it would get over 2000 per year.

Our trails up here in Northen Ontario are so rough you lucky to get over 30 mph, so the ATVs take longer to put the miles on then the sleds doing 50-80 mph on groomed trails and frozen flat lakes.
