2006 700 EFI Problems "HELP"
My 06 is giving me problems with the EFI. It just quit on me the other day and wouldn't start again. When you crank it over for a few seconds it starts to flash EFI on the screen. So i used a jumper to get the code on the screen and it came up 00 which means none. The fuel pump pressurizes and shuts off wheb you turn the key on but you can't smell gas after you crank it over for awhile, so i don't think the gas is getting in the throttle body. Any ideas????????

How many miles? I'm assuming by you post and that you've used a "jumper" to identify the code...your no newb.
Could be a few simple things:
1. check all you wiring connections in /around your battery/CDI/from the tank - frame induced wire chafing is common and could be causing a short.
2. You could have a plugged fuel filter on the sending unit in the tank, or if you have an in-line one it too could be gummed up.
3. Even though your pump cycles, it may NOT be coming up to pressure.
4. OR... you may have a badly fouled sparkplug. - If your plug is good...next time it gets subborn and after repeated cranking....pull your plug and see how WET it is.
5. it could also be a bad ignition coil
6. OR.... on the extreme side of things.....your timing is off due to a bad/slipped timing chain.
My "poor-man" suggestion/fix is get a can of SEAFOAM and dump it in the tank the next time you go riding. It's amazing stuff at cleaning the fuel system/plug/valves. I use it in all my AC machines every fill.
I was told at one time that these EFI machines tend to get cranky if you DON'T let them idle for about 30sec-min when your planning to shut down for a break in your riding - althought admittedly I believe this is an H1 issue.
My wifey's '09 550 has thrown a few EFI codes, but they've been directly due to the RED kill-switch being turned on/off too fast.
