Default arctic cat 2002 300 4x4

My relay starter is clicking when i try to start up, but it won't turn my starter. I connected the starter straight to a power source and it turned over with no problems. What's going on with this????

One or 3 things:
1 - Bad battery or not fully charged
2 - dirty connections at eh battery or starter relay.
3 - Bad relay.

At one time I was told it was the brushes in starter but I can not find rebuild kits for the starter and new ones are like $150 and replacing the starter relay cured the problem for me (that was only $40). I have also had a similar issue but it was my battery that was bad.

Hope this helps.

Take the starter, or at least the brushes, to a auto electric parts store. They can measure the brushes and find a replacement for you--probably $15 for a set.

NAPA parts stores also have interchange books, and can likely match the brushes, too.
