Default EFI conversion possible...?

Would it be possible to put an '06 700 EFI throttle body and accompanying electronics on an '07 650 H1? What do you think...? How difficult would this be? Would reprogramming have to be done? Is that possible? Thanks for your time, sorry for so many questions.

It could be done, but the question would be is the time and money worth it.

I'm not sure, but would you need a new wiring harness to accommodate the EFI's electronics? That alone would be a lot of work.

I rode a Rancher 420 and Sportsman 500 EFI the same model as mine but with a 39mm throttle body vs a 40mm Mikuni, you really cant tell the difference. It would be alot of work time and money for nothing. Put the money in a set of great tires or pipe or something that you can feel the differance.

I know where a 650 that the carb burnt up on is...If I could get it for around $1200 and I can get a throttlebody with accompanying electronics for $100. Seems like it would be an interesting project. Would the EFI have to be reprogrammed? How would I do that?

I would think you would have to remap the system since it's going on a smaller motor. Don't know if the exhaust is different on the two or not, but that would be another factor for needing it done too.

What you might want to do is go to some place like Ronnies and look at the microfiche of the two models and see what parts do and don't interchange. Would give you a good idea of what parts you're going to need, and a price range of what it would cost. Of course you can always check locally and on ebay for cheaper parts once you know what you'll need.

You do know that they are completely different engines? The 650 is the Cat H1, while an 06 700 EFI is a suzuki engine, same one that goes in the KQ.

I was thinking about swapping the 700 'zuki engine from a wrecked Cat into my 400 TRV, only to find out that the frame mounts are completely different. Pity, a 650 H1 would just about bolt in.
