Hi, new first time owner and first time on this site. i have an 07 cat 400 4x4 automatic. The 4x4 switch is stuck on 4 wheel drive. took it mudding about a month ago and did not have time to wash it then until recently. Switch worked fine then but now its stuck on 4. will not go back to 2 whhel drive. Any ideas? Simple fix?

 

spray penetrating lube in there and let it sit. i would try that first cause i assume the rubber to keep the elements out must be ripped somewhere and some mud or a small rock got in there.

 

Thanks weez440, the rubber is ripped and i tried your suggestion but still not working. Anyone have any other ideas?

 

I was able to get the switch to togggle over but i dont think its working. On the display the 4 wheel drive does not change when I flip the switch. Also, i noticed the display is always showing "lock" for the front differential even if i have the differential switch set to unlock. Could it all be related? any ideas? Is there a way to "test" some of these things?
