Default 2006 Arctic Cat

I have a question regarding my 700 EFI Arctic Cat.

The "VOLT" light indicater keeps flashing on the display screen? Has this happened to anyone else? and if so, how did you fix it?

Thanks

mine is at the shop for some final warranty work right now.(seals,shocks,ect... When i unloaded it off the trailer i noticed the display flashing "volt" also. It had done this before. The battery is newer than the stock and it started right up with out hesitation so i was sure it wasnt the battery. I havent gotten it back yet but i was told it was a wire in the back of the bike not connected properly. ill get better detail when i get to pick it up. I had unplugged my ECU to try and reset the ECU thinking it had registered low volts from sitting for a while with out a charger on it. It seemed to have worked, but only for 3 weeks, then it came on again

Mudslinginfool,

Thanks for the reply.

I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.

Also, do you keep your ATV on a battery tender?

Cheers,
Buck

yes when im at home i put a 1.5 amp battery tender on it or battery maintainer actually. it kicks on and off as needed to keep the battery at full charge. im hoping to get my bike this week(need it this weekend for hunting) but they are waiting on ball joints. so like i said once i get it ill let you know.

Picked it up and he said it wasnt a wire, but just the fact that the computer will read that the atv has or had low voltage and will flash on the screen if its been sitting for a bit. Im not sure about it though. Mine will be charged completely but still flash volt. Maybe i need to try my battery tender again. i never had an issue when i had that hooked up so he maybe right.

This happened to my 07 700 and it turned out to be the Voltage Regulator. I would check and make sure. Start the engine with a voltage meter hooked to the battery and check what the reading is at an idle and 1/4 throttle. If your voltage reads above 17 volts, it will trigger the Volt message on the cluster. Mine was reading 17.93 volts at 1/4 throttle. I replaced the regulator and never seen the "Volt" again.
