Angry Getting aggravated with my Arctic Cat 366

I am getting a little peeved with my wife's 2008 Arctic Cat 366. Repairs list: (2) CV Boots ($50 ea), new starter ($200), $30 for a stinking foam air filter and misc. small items. This bike doesn't get ridden that hard. I am now trying to replace the front outer CV Boot and the axle nut must have been put on with a 1" impact gun because I have yet to break it loose. Last night while trying to break loose the nut I had my son hold the brakes to keep the axle from turning and the brake line go a hole in it (another $57 to replace). This is getting a little ridiculous.

im assuming the atv doesnt have cv protectors on it? Iv had the cats, the 1st one being a 300 and ill agree, i ripped several cv boots going through the woods or cut corn fields. Them corn stalks are hard on them boots. I finally put some steel cv boot protectors on it which covered the front and the bottom of the a-arms which would keep me from having to replace the cv boots. My 500 and 700 both have the protectors from factory and ive never torn one, yet. Ive never heard of the starters going out so quickly.

CV boots are every ATVs problem, some ATVs have better boot quards then others. This place sell boot kits for your ATV for $18 each. http://www.mfgsupply.com/m/c/process.html

Thanks for the feedback on the CV Boot protectors.

Any ideas on how to break the nut loose so I can change the outer boot? I haven't tried heating it yet but I think that is my next option.
