98 Bearcat overheating?

I have a 98 Bearcat 454 4x4 that the fan is not working on. The engine coolant light comes on, but the fan will not come on. The fan does work when I run power to it. Any suggestions?

temperature sensor is what came to mind as long as it actually runs with direct power hooked to it.
